A slow way of arriving
Some places, you have to walk into to understand.
i.
Arrive. Let it happen.
No audio guides. No welcome desk. You step onto the trail, and Taiwan does the rest — the humidity, the sound of water, the way someone offers you tea.
ii.
Notice everything.
How a fishing harbor wakes up. How an old canal still feeds the rice fields below. How Taiwanese people quietly take care of you when you're tired. The point isn't a summit. The point is 看見 — to see.
iii.
Real, over designed.
The noodles are too hot. The sweet potato is hard to peel. Someone gets tired. Wind is strong. It rains. Tea is too hot. These are not failures of the experience. They are the experience.
Three Trails
Three doorways. Three speeds of arrival.
Water. Coastline. Ridge. Each trail is a different way of stepping into Taiwan — not to see all of it, but to stay in one part long enough that it stops being scenery.

Trail 01 · Half day
Where Taipei quietly disappears.
"Twenty minutes from the MRT, the city is gone. Only the sound of water remains."
A two-hundred-year-old irrigation canal still carries water down a forested valley. The city is right there, behind one ridge — but you'll forget. You walk where the water walks. You stop for sixty seconds. You leave with one sentence in a notebook.

"A working harbor. The wind. The Pacific. Standing here, you feel like a backpacker again."
The Pacific cuts straight into sandstone cliffs. You walk a headland trail, get your feet wet on a tide platform, share a bowl of fish soup at a harbor stall, and sit watching the ocean do nothing in particular for a long time.

Not promotional. What the day actually looks like.

A Day With Us
What you'll actually do on the trail.
You'll arrive at the trailhead in the morning. There won't be a long briefing. You'll meet the people you're walking with, get your water and snacks sorted, and start walking. From there, the day shapes itself — the weather, the trail, the pace. Here's what tends to happen.
Walk where the water walks.
Find a spot you like. Stop there.
Share a pack of noodles on the trail.
Carry someone's bag for a while.
Listen. Just sixty seconds.
Wait out the rain together.
Sit by the ocean. Do nothing.
Walk into a harbor breakfast shop.
The noodles are really hot. The sweet potato is hard to peel. Someone gets tired. We wait. The wind is strong. It rains. The tea is too hot. Someone starts a conversation out of nowhere.

(Jasmine Garden) in 2010, building a 15-year practice of experiential and adventure education for Taiwanese youth — including three Ministry of Education programs, a K-12 outdoor partnership with Zhulin School Cluster, and the design of the Du Shan Zhe methodology now used across over a thousand learning sessions.
On Walk Into Taiwan, she's not a guide — she's the person walking with you. The one who walked the Andes and the Amazon, sailed to Patagonia, set foot on Antarctica, lived through Himalayan winters and the steady rain of Pacific Northwest forests — and still believes a quiet morning beside a Pingding canal is worth the same kind of attention.

Commissioned by Taiwan's Ministry of Education · Operator of the Youth Travel Hub · Outdoor education program adopted across the full K-12 stages · Designer of large-scale alpine and forest education programs.
For fifteen years we've designed outdoor and experiential learning for Taiwanese youth — through schools, the Ministry of Education, and our own programs. We've watched what changes a student. We know it's rarely a classroom hour. It's the slower kind of time — a wet morning on a trail, an unscripted afternoon at a harbor — that students remember years later.
Walk Into Taiwan opens that practice to your international students. It's not a city tour, not a culture class, not an itinerary. It's a weekend they'll later describe as "I really lived there."
We design cohorts around your academic calendar, student backgrounds, and program themes — scale is flexible, from small immersion groups to large-format programs (we regularly run school-wide expeditions of several hundred participants).
The full execution runs on a three-way structure: 茉莉花園新創教育 handles outdoor leadership and field delivery, PEVA handles program design and learning-pathway integration, and 波莫納旅行社 (our in-house travel agency) handles all logistics — transport, accommodation, insurance, and regulatory compliance.
The experience comes with a pre-trip immersion brief, a Walking Notebook (EN + 中文), post-trip reflection materials, and a documentary photo set you can use in your program archives.
PEVA is a registered non-profit association in Taiwan, commissioned by the Ministry of Education to operate the Youth Travel Hub program. We design programs that bring young people — Taiwanese and international — into the real Taiwan: trails, harbors, old canals, and the everyday textures of this island.
Walk Into Taiwan is the international entry into our flagship outdoor education system, 讀山者 (Du Shan Zhe · Readers of Mountains) — content built and refined over fifteen years with Taiwanese children, schools, and the Ministry of Education. Previously known as our "adventure education" program, it was renamed 讀山者 last year and rolled into a school-facing system.
Walk Into Taiwan
